The individual certificates cover a wide range of topics, e. g. social standards, sustainability and conservation of the environment, the material or the respective production process. Meanwhile, standards and monitoring processes have been set for many different areas. Here is an overview of the most important certificates applying to our companies.

The amfori Business Social Compliance Initiative is a programme that works to improve social standards in the global supply chain. It provides companies with a code of conduct to help build a more ethical supply chain and protect workers' rights.

The Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) is a voluntary US partnership programme that works to secure supply chains against the threat of terrorism.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) sets out guidelines for the manufacturers of textiles made from organic fibres. These guidelines cover the entire supply chain – both environmental aspects and the working conditions in the textiles and clothing industry. The fertility of soil may not be manipulated by harmful substances, persistent pesticides or artificial fertiliser, for example. Likewise, the cultivation of genetically- modified crops is prohibited.

The Higg Index was developed by the Sustainable Apparel Coalition (SAC) to create global, industry-wide parameters for the sustainability of the textile industry. The index captures environmental and social aspects along the entire value chain and measures the sustainability of companies, brands and products.

The Global Recycle Standard (GRS) is an international product standard that sets requirements for the certification of recycled materials, the product chain, and social and environmental practices. The GRS defines correct working conditions and the correct use of chemical substances and materials.

The ISO 14001 standard sets the framework for an environmental management system. While no concrete requirements are stipulated for environmental performance, the standard provides companies and organisations with a framework within which effective environmental management can be established.

The ISO 9001 standard defines the bases for a quality management system. It includes a specific focus on the customers, the motivation and involvement of the management staff, all processes and continual improvement on all levels.

The ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System) is an internationally-recognised method to test and assess work protection systems. A defined management system is used here to identify and control health and safety risks. This allows companies to minimise hazards for their employees and visitors.

OEKO-TEX® MADE IN GREEN is a traceable product label for textiles and leather goods that makes the supply chain completely transparent. It signifies the sustainability of processes and sourcing through optimisation of chemical management, product and consumer safety, and social responsibility through fair wages, working hours and workplace safety.

REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) is an EU chemicals regulation that has harmonised and simplified previous chemicals legislation. The aim of REACH is to improve human health and the environment through better and earlier identification of chemical substances.

The STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX® criteria catalogue offers manufacturers in the textiles industry a scientific basis of uniform standards for the evaluation of possible harmful substances in textiles. This label provides an indication of the verified safety of skin-friendly clothing for consumers, for example.

Sedex (Supplier Ehtical Data Exchange) is a membership organisation for companies that have committed to continuously improving ethical behaviour in their supply chain. The Sedex database supports the ethical management of the supply chain and provides more transparency on issues such as labour rights, safety, and sustainability.

Textile Exchange is a non-profit organisation, which is committed to the development of sustainability in the global textile value chain worldwide. The organisation supports people and companies in the implementation of sustainable practices. The focus is on minimising the harmful impacts of the global textiles industry and maximising the positive ones.

Intertek's Supplier Qualification Program is an industry standard that promotes continuous improvement through open benchmarking. It focuses on the consumer goods industry and offers, among other things, accredited training programmes and qualified trainers and auditors.

The Think Green Initiative (TGI) supports suppliers in the implementation of environmental protection measures in the manufacturing process. At the same time, it helps to reduce costs and enhance material efficiency. The requirements of employees, investors and the community are also taken into account.

WRAP is an independent and objective non-profit organisation that has set itself the goal of improving the working conditions in factories in the clothing industry. The WRAP standards include the prohibition of forced or child labour, prohibition of harassment or abuse, payment of the legal minimum wage including social benefits, and guaranteeing of a safe and healthy workplace.

With UPS Carbon Neutral Shipment it's possible to reduce the carbon footprint and climate impact of shipments. UPS‘s carbon neutral option supports projects that offset the emissions of the shipment‘s transport, among them projects including reforestation, landfill gas destruction, wastewater treatment, and methane destruction. This option is verified by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), an inspection, testing, and verification company.
