Responsibility begins where our
actions directly affect people
Our activities have an impact on the lives of people within our own company and throughout our supply chain. We are mindful of this responsibility and are working to make a positive contribution.
Responsibility towards people is an integral part of our sustainability strategy and is closely linked to our commitment to manufacturing products under fair conditions, to a high standard of quality and through long-term partnerships.
Within our own company, we are making tangible improvements to working conditions. We provide ergonomic workstations, lifting equipment and exoskeletons in the warehouse. We also provide the team with regular training in health and safety and first aid. We help ease the strain on our staff in their day-to-day lives through a wide range of health and wellbeing initiatives. We subsidise job bikes and public transport. Through regular surveys, we identify mental health issues at an early stage and take appropriate action. In recognition of these efforts, we were awarded the Great Place to Work® certification in 2024.
Our responsibility extends throughout the supply chain. Our production partners are committed to social standards. These are based on international guidelines such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the ILO’s core labour standards and the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises. Our partners exclude child labour and forced labour. They guarantee safe working conditions, fair wages, regulated working hours and freedom of association. Certifications such as amfori BSCI, WRAP and SA8000 attest to this commitment. In the event of any deviations, we work directly with our partners to bring about improvements.
We deliberately focus on long-term partnerships. This allows us to get to know working conditions and processes over the years and to develop them further together. This collaboration is making a difference: for example, one of our key partners prepares a free hot lunch every day for thousands of employees. In 2025, they served around 550,000 meals.
We also help beyond our core business. In 2024, we donated 100 warm jackets to homeless people in Düsseldorf. A year later, we provided T-shirts for the volunteers at the well:fair Foundation. Our in-house ‘Give Box’ makes it easy to share second-hand items, so that less is thrown away. Insect hotels and wildflower meadows round off our commitment at our site.
